LPL Starts New Book Club for Adults Who Enjoy Reading YA Fiction

March 7, 2013...If you are an adult who couldn't get enough of The Hunger Games or Twilight or Harry Potter, and you love reading all the latest books marketed to teens, you might be interested in the Library's newest book club.

Librarian Dani Mantz, a self-confessed fan of Young Adult books, is starting a book club for adults to get together each month to discuss a pre-selected young adult book.  Meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, in meeting room 2.  The popularity of young adult books has skyrocketed, said Mantz, and adults enjoy reading them and talking about them.

The first meeting will be held on Monday, March 11, at 5:30 in meeting room 2.  The group will discuss The Selection by Kiera Cass.  The group also will select a name for the club and develop a list of books to read for future discussion.

Individuals who have not had an opportunity to read the selected book but wish to join the club are encouraged to attend.

The book for April is The Book Thief, by Mark Zusak.  The group will discuss that book on April 8.
