Thank you to everyone who donated to our Hearts of Healing memorial book sponsorship. We raised $332, which enabled us to purchase copies of all the titles we had selected to honor the 26 innocent children and teachers who lost their lives on December 14 in Newtown, Connecticut.
March 7, 2013...If you are an adult who couldn't get enough of The Hunger Games or Twilight or Harry Potter, and you love reading all the latest books marketed to teens, you might be interested in the Library's newest book club.
When librarian Arin Burton's son was a toddler, he loved looking at trucks and trains. Her son's excitement at seeing a truck prompted her to start a Touch A Truck program at Lima Public Library, and the annual event is one parents and their children look forward to attending.
The event is held the first Saturday in May (May 4 this year), from 10-noon, in the Library's back parking lot. A slew of big and little vehicles are available to children to look at, sit in, honk, touch and more, along with a scattering of activities.
