Manuscript Road Show with Lisa Fagin Davis

Lisa Fagin Davis, executive director of the Medieval Academy of America, will be at the main library on Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31, to answer questions and offer free verbal evaluations/appraisals of illuminated manuscripts.  Davis is especially interested in manuscripts that were sold by Lima Public Library during the 1930s-50s.

 One-on-One Manuscript Evaluations

Does your family have a manuscript page in their possession?  Are you interested in learning more about it and, possibly, what it might be worth?

The Great Backyard Bird Count

Tri-Moraine Audubon Society currently has a display at the main library that promotes the 20th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count, which takes place February 17-20 this year.  Participating in the count is easy and fun, both for individuals and families, and the society is always looking for local participation.  To find out more about counting birds in your own backyard, go to www.birdcount.org

New SelectReads Service

SelectReads is a book lover's dream! Have trouble deciding what to read next? SelectReads can help!  SelectReads allows you to pick categories of books you enjoy (like cookbooks, history or fiction) and receive a monthly e-mail where 10 titles in our collection are suggested to you. You can link to our catalog directly from your e-mail to place the items you want on hold.

2016 Tax Forms

The library now has tax forms for 2016 available. In the lobby of the main library you'll find a bookshelf filled with the forms that we currently have available. The State of Ohio is not sending out printed forms this year, but we do have their instruction booklet available. Please note: the instruction booklets for IRS forms are not yet available, but we expect to receive them soon.

Mobile Hotspots Available Now

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Lima Library Association, Mobile Hotspots are now available to check-out at Lima Public Library. Hotspots provide internet access to those that may not have it at home. These devices are excellent for students to complete homework while the library is not open, and for job seekers to continue the search! And of course they are perfect for those looking to build their internet skills in the comfort of their own home- practice makes perfect!

Roving Readers Book Club

Our new book club, Roving Readers, was designed by the Lima Public Library in partnership with: The Met, The Meeting Place on Market, & Vino Bellisimo.*  We choose the book, you choose the meeting day, time, & place that best suit you. Come to the same meeting each month or change it up. You don't need to register to participate, just read that month's book and join one of the meetings! The book selections are available at the library, or check Hoopla Digital and The Ohio Digital Library.
