How to Order Obituaries from the Lima Public Library
The Lima Public Library maintains an index of obituaries appearing in the Lima News from 1933 (currently) to the present time. If the obituaries requested are on file in this index, there will be no charge for up to five obituary requests. For obituaries not listed in our index, requests in excess of five, and all other remote inquiries, please see our Remote Research Request Policy.
- Submit your request online by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org; or send a letter with your request to: Reference Dept. Lima Public Library 650 W. Market St. Lima, Ohio 45801.
- Make your request for information as specific as possible including: the name of the deceased, the date the obituary appeared in the Lima News and, if possible, the page/column the obituary is on.
- We may be required to contact you for clarification. If so, we will email or call you. Please provide a current telephone number and/or e-mail address with your request.
- Specify the method of delivery for the information. We can e-mail your request to you, or send it by USPS (if you would prefer this, please provide your mailing address with your request).
It is always possible for the researcher to visit the Lima Public Library in person. Copies on site are $.20. You can save the obituary to a flash drive, or send it to your email for free.
